Many people say that gambling won’t do any good. It may cost you a fortune and some were already drowning in debt. Why people got so addicted to gambling? What are the pleasures gambling may bring them?
In this article, I will let you nurture what gambling can cause you. I will also give three examples of gambling games. What are the advantages and disadvantages it may bring and the effects it may give you? Let’s begin.
Would there be anyone who doesn’t know about poker? Maybe a few but I’m sure there are a lot of people playing it. It was developed during the 19th century in the US and became so popular over the years.
Well, poker is not that really hard to play and most of the people who got addicted to it were males. It also has two variants of poker, the “high hand” and the “low hand”, either the two it will still be the same gameplay anyway.
The idea of the modern slot machines today was from Sittman and Pitt of NY City, they developed the gambling machine in 1891 but it was invented by Charles Fey in San Francisco CA in 1887. It was about four years that Sittman and Pitt made a precursor of the gambling machine which we call now as the slot machine.
In the modern-day era, females were the ones who like this thing. With a simple pulling of the lever or pushing the button, it reels will rotate, however, if you are no luck, you may end up with an empty pocket. These machines were also called one-armed bandits, fruit machines, which can steal all the money you have, they are now called Slot Machines, 666 has a wide variety of online slots on their website. The famous Miguel De Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote was the one who made the references for the game. It was written between 1601 and 1602. Later references to this game are found in
Spain and France.
Since this is the trailblazer of the game twenty-one, the gameplay is the same, it is like you are playing lucky nine for some, but with this, you need to hit twenty-one points for you to win. You will just add all the numbers you have on the cards. Winter is getting closer, better have the best ski jackets when that time comes.
So these are the three examples of the gambling games that most people were addicted to. Let us now focus on the disadvantages of being a gambler. In my perception, I don’t see any problem with gambling except for the fact that it may cost me so much money that may lead to debt. But it can be avoided, how, by just doing what is right.
If we will try to analyze why people were addicted to it, it is just because, for them it is relaxing, some may find it, time killer, some had won and craving for more. But whatever reason it may be if this could bring happiness to someone, who are we to be such hindrance? Like a beer that needs to drink in moderation, with this, you have to play moderately.
The Food Safety and Quality Authority conducted a two-day training for food inspectors and its scientific committee on food control, risk assessment and analysis in food safety.
Funded by the Standard and Trade Development Facility (STDF) under the recently launched project operationalization of the Directorates of Food Control and Scientific Affairs of the FSQA.
This preparatory grant from STDF came though the Ministry of Trade following a request made by the National Codex Sanitary Phytosanitary Committee (NCSPC) in 2011.
Food and Agricultural Organization, FAO, are the implementing body of the project and they also provide additional funds for capacity building purposs.
Speaking at the National Nutrition Agency on April 18, Zainab Jallow, deputy director FSQA, said the training is key to the implementation of the Food Safety and Quality Act.
She said participants, drawn from various departments, would be collaborating with the Authority to facilitate the work of her office by giving them adequate training on food control and safety data analysis associated with risk analysis, risks profiling and risk management.
“Risk analysis is a new concept applied to food control systems and is a tool which enables the Authority to prioritize its work and focuses her limited resources to obtain maximum outcomes,” Ms Jallow said.
A majority leader of the national assembly has said it is not their role to promise the people roads, schools or hospitals, but admitted that people can challenge National Assembly Members, NAMs, on “bad laws.”
If there is any law that our electorates feel is not appropriate, they should hold us on our necks, said Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta, also a member for Serekunda East. We are to be challenge for bad laws.
He said members who promise to build roads and other facilities for their people are sending a wrong signal.
“If we go on campaign and you tell your electorates that if you vote for me, I will build your roads, schools and hospitals, you are sending wrong signals,” Hon. Jatta said at an adjournment debate on April 10.
He urged members to make best use of the various committees in the national assembly rather than lodge complaints during sessions.
The sessions are not the place to lodge your complaints, lodge your complaints on issues affecting your areas to the various parliamentary committees responsible, he advised.
Minority leader critical but constructive
Jatta said: “We want to acknowledge the minority leader, though he is critical but his criticisms are constructive. It helps us to correct the weakness we may have.
“Those days are gone where opposition parties will not hail anything good about the ruling party.
“Hopefully, we will bring him to our party and we surely hope this fruitful relationship will continue.”
